about

Good old Morrigan. She couldn't stand to wed her man. And so she chose to flee.

lyrics

She walked down the aisle with a tacked on smile
To hide her regret and her dread
From everyone she would rather have run
In the other direction instead
Making her way to the altar
'Til she finally came face to face
With the grrom and the priest then she turned on her feet
'Til she just couldn't keep them in place

She made for the door, a bride no more
That Morrigan Dupree
She couldn't stand to wed her man
And so she chose to flee

She grabbed her maiden name and without a refrain
She left and she never returned
Twelve minutes passed and the crowd sat aghast
'Til the service was finally adjourned
A whisped went through all the guests none of whom
Could comprehend or understand
Why Morrigan would want to run
From such an awful man

She made for the door, a bride no more
That Morrigan Dupree
She couldn't stand to wed her man
And so she chose to flee

The wedding cake would go uncut
And soon would go to waste somewhat
Sitting by the sparkling champagne
Until the startled guests arrived
And the sound of thunder split the sky
Then a summer rain came down that day
No one had any cake, no cake, no way
No way

She laughed and she scoffed as her garter fell off
She threw her bouquet in the trash
Her car read just married in the window but carried
Her far with the cans still tied to the back

She made for the door, a bride no more
That Morrigan Dupree
She couldn't stand to wed her man
And so she chose to flee
